Part 2 : The screen refreshed.

Charles frowned.

He typed again.

Faster this time.

Charles (uneasy): “No… that’s not correct. Recheck it.”

The assistant leaned in nervously.

Assistant (whispering): “Sir… is something wrong?”

Charles didn’t answer. His eyes stayed locked on the screen.

He tried again. And again.

The color slowly drained from his face.

Charles (voice breaking slightly): “This account… this can’t be right…”

The room went silent. Even breathing felt loud.

The veteran stepped forward, calm and unshaken.

Veteran: “Go on. Say it out loud.”

Charles swallowed hard.

Charles (barely audible): “This account… it owns the parent holding company.”

A wave of shock exploded through the bank.

Gasps. Phones rising. People stepping back.

Charles slowly looked up at the veteran, his confidence gone completely.

Charles (whispering): “Who… are you?”

The veteran leaned on his cane, eyes cold but steady.

Veteran: “Someone you shouldn’t have spoken to like that.”

Silence swallowed the entire room.
