Part 2 ; The plane dropped suddenly.

Screams filled the cabin.

But Daniel didn’t hear any of it.

He was staring at the bracelet.

His hands began to shake.

“That patient… she died,” he whispered, more to himself than anyone else. “I was there… I watched her die…”

“Doctor!” the flight attendant cried. “We’re losing her again!”

Daniel snapped back, forcing himself to move.

“No… not this time.”

He leaned in, pushing past the fear clawing at his chest.

“Stay with me,” he said firmly. “You’re not dying. Not again.”

The girl’s eyes fluttered.

For a moment, they were just a child’s eyes.

Weak. Scared.

Then—

Something changed.

Her gaze sharpened.

Too aware.

Too knowing.

“You remember now…” she whispered.

A chill ran down his spine.

The lights flickered.

The storm outside roared louder, as if responding.

“I waited…” she continued softly. “So long…”

Daniel’s chest tightened.

“This isn’t real,” he muttered. “You’re just a patient. A coincidence—”

“No.” Her grip tightened again. “You left me.”

The words hit harder than anything.

FLASH—

A younger Daniel. Exhausted. Defeated. Walking away from a hospital room.

Machines flatlining behind him.

A promise he didn’t keep.

BACK TO PRESENT—

“I was a child,” she said. “And you gave up.”

“I didn’t give up!” Daniel snapped, his voice breaking. “I tried everything!”

“You stopped,” she whispered.

The monitors began to go wild.

Flatline threatening.

Daniel’s breathing grew heavy.

Then suddenly—

He steadied.

No more denial.

No more running.

“Then I’ll fix it now,” he said, voice low, determined. “Whatever this is… whoever you are… I’m not losing you again.”

For the first time—

The girl smiled.

Not like a child.

Something deeper.

Something unsettling.

“Then prove it…”

The plane shook violently.

Alarms screamed.

Daniel pressed down, fighting against time itself.

“Clear!”

A shock.

Her body jolted.

Silence—

One second.

Two—

Then—

A heartbeat.

Weak.

But real.

Daniel exhaled sharply, almost collapsing.

“I did it…” he whispered.

But when he looked up—

The girl was staring at him.

Fully conscious now.

Calm.

Too calm.

And slowly…

She let go of his wrist.

“You didn’t save me…” she said quietly.

Daniel’s heart stopped.

Her smile widened—just slightly.

“You just brought me back.”

The lights flickered out.

And for a split second—

In the reflection of the dark window—

The girl sitting there…

Was not the same one he saved.
