Part 2 : The restaurant remained frozen in silence.

Rain crashed outside while every guest watched the terrifying scene unfold.

The man in the black coat walked slowly toward Veronica.

His eyes never left hers.

“You should’ve stayed dead,” Veronica whispered shakily.

The little girl looked between them in confusion.

“You know him?” she asked softly.

Veronica couldn’t answer.

Because twenty years ago…

Damien Cross was the man she betrayed.

And Eva was the woman who disappeared afterward.

Damien stopped beside the table.

“You really thought the truth would stay buried forever?” he asked coldly.

Veronica’s breathing became uneven.

“You don’t understand,” she whispered.

But Damien slammed another photograph onto the table.

A hospital photo.

Dated seven years earlier.

Veronica picked it up—
and nearly collapsed.

It showed Eva in a hospital bed…
holding the same little blonde girl.

And beside them stood Veronica herself.

The little girl stared in shock.

“You knew my mommy?”

Tears filled Veronica’s eyes.

“Yes…”

The child’s voice cracked.

“Then why did she hide me?”

Before Veronica could answer, Damien spoke.

“Because Veronica destroyed your family.”

The entire restaurant gasped.

Veronica shook her head violently.

“That’s not true!”

Damien leaned closer.

“Tell her what really happened that night.”

Veronica’s eyes filled with tears as memories flooded back—

the fire…
the screaming…
the baby she thought died…

The little girl stepped backward in fear.

“What’s happening?” she cried.

Veronica suddenly dropped to her knees.

And finally…

she said the words she had hidden for seven years.

“I’m your mother.”

The little girl froze.

Damien closed his eyes.

And outside the restaurant—

police sirens began approaching.
