Part 2 : The entire bakery froze.

The woman slowly stepped inside, her high heels clicking against the marble floor. Snow melted from her coat as terrified customers watched silently.

“Noah,” she said sharply. “Come here. Now.”

The little boy shook with fear.

His sister buried her face into his neck crying harder.

Victor Laurent stepped between them.

“Don’t touch those children,” he said coldly.

The woman’s face changed instantly.

“You don’t understand,” she snapped. “Those kids belong with me.”

Victor’s eyes narrowed.

“Belong?” he repeated quietly. “After leaving them alone in an alley last night?”

The bakery erupted with whispers.

The woman panicked.

“I had no choice!”

Victor suddenly pulled a folded photograph from his pocket and held it up.

Noah gasped.

It was a picture of his mother smiling beside Victor… years ago.

The woman’s face turned completely pale.

“You…” she whispered.

Victor looked at Noah with tears forming in his eyes.

“Your mother saved my life once,” he said softly. “Before she disappeared.”

Noah stared at him in confusion.

“What are you talking about?”

Victor took a deep breath.

“She was my sister.”

The entire bakery went silent.

The little girl slowly looked up.

“…Uncle Victor?”

The woman suddenly turned and ran toward the door.

But before she could escape, police officers entered the bakery from outside.

Victor had already called them.

As officers escorted the woman away, Noah finally broke down crying.

Victor carefully placed a hand on the boy’s shoulder.

“You and your sister will never be alone again.”

Outside, snow continued falling over the glowing bakery windows while the little girl finally ate warm bread for the first time in days.

And for the first time in a very long time…
