Part 2 : Emma sat alone outside a small café, the heat still heavy in the air. Her interview folder lay beside her—crumpled, forgotten. Her dream had ended before it even began.

She tried to convince herself she did the right thing.

But regret doesn’t listen to logic.

Then her phone rang.

Unknown number.

She hesitated… then answered.

A calm voice spoke:

“Is this Emma Blake?”

“Yes…”

A pause.

“This is Weston & Co. We’d like you to come in immediately. The CEO personally requested to see you.”

Emma blinked.

“What? I missed the interview…”

The voice lowered.

“You didn’t just miss it, Ms. Blake. You saved him.”

Silence.

Then—

“He is not just a visitor to our company.”

Another pause.

“He is the owner.”

Emma’s breath stopped.

That evening, a black car arrived at her apartment. The same man she saved—alive, recovered—stepped out slowly, holding a hospital bracelet in his hand.

But before he could speak—

A second car arrived.

And a young woman stepped out, shaking.

She looked at Emma… then at the man… then whispered:

“You don’t know what you’ve just stepped into.”

The man turned pale.

“Don’t tell me she finally found me…”

Emma stepped back:

“Found you? What is going on?”

The woman’s eyes filled with tears.

Because the truth wasn’t gratitude.

It was something far more dangerous.

And the man she saved…

Was not supposed to be found alive.
