Part 2 : Richard slowly lowered the phone.

Noah noticed the color disappear from his face.

“What happened?” he asked.

Richard looked toward the bakery windows.

Across the street…

A black car sat parked.

Engine running.

Dark windows.

Watching.

Richard immediately stood.

“Get the children.”

Employees stared in confusion.

“What?”

“NOW!”

The bakery erupted into chaos.

Richard grabbed Lily while Noah followed close beside him.

Outside, rain crashed against the streets.

The black car suddenly started moving.

Straight toward them.

“Noah, run!”

Tires screamed.

Richard pulled both children behind a parked car just as the black SUV blasted past them.

BOOM!

Glass exploded behind them.

People started screaming.

Lily cried against Richard’s shoulder.

Then Noah suddenly froze.

His eyes widened.

He stared at the SUV.

“No…” he whispered.

Richard looked at him.

Noah’s voice shook.

“I know that car.”

Richard stared.

“What do you mean?”

Noah looked terrified.

Because on the driver’s wrist—

he had just seen a snake-shaped tattoo.

The same tattoo…

that belonged to the man who took them.
