PART 2 — “The Voice From the Dead Man’s Piano”

I stepped back from him.

And Adrian did something no one expected.

He dropped to his knees.

Right there in front of the altar.

In front of his mother.
In front of the priest.
In front of hundreds of guests.

“Please,” he whispered. “Mia, I loved you.”

His mother snapped.

“Get up! Don’t embarrass yourself!”

But he didn’t.

Because panic had already replaced pride.

And then she turned on me.

Her voice cracked like glass.

“You ungrateful girl—after everything we gave you!”

She rushed forward, heels hitting marble like a threat.

But before she reached me—

I pressed play.

The screen behind the altar flickered.

Static.

Then my father appeared.

Alive. Pale. Weak.

And absolutely real.

A wave of shock hit the room so hard someone screamed.

And then his voice filled the church:

“If you are watching this… then Adrian got too close to my daughter.”

The groom started shaking violently.

“Turn it off!” he screamed. “Mia, PLEASE!”

But I couldn’t stop now.

Because my father wasn’t finished.

He leaned closer to the camera in the video.

And said the sentence that changed everything:

“Adrian didn’t just lie to you… he made sure I would never be able to tell you the truth myself.”

A silence so heavy followed that it felt like oxygen disappeared.

Adrian’s mother froze mid-step.

Her face drained of color.

“That’s impossible…” she whispered. “You said you handled everything.”

Adrian snapped his head toward her.

For the first time—real fear turned into something worse.

betrayal.

“Mom…?”

I looked down at him.

And in that moment, I knew:

He wasn’t the only one who had been hiding something.

Because my father’s video was still playing…

And he was just about to reveal what Adrian’s mother did the night he died.
