Part 2 : The moment Lily saw the man, she dropped the hot dog.

“No!” she cried.

The man rushed forward.

“Lily!”

Mia immediately stepped between them.

“Stay back!”

People on the sidewalk finally stopped to watch.

The man raised his hands.

“Please, listen to me. I’m her father.”

Mia didn’t move.

“Then why is she afraid of you?”

The man looked heartbroken.

“Because someone lied to her.”

Lily was shaking.

“He said you weren’t coming back!”

The man’s eyes widened.

“Who said that?”

Lily whispered a name.

“Aunt Sarah.”

Everything suddenly made sense.

The police arrived minutes later.

After checking records and old photos, the truth came out.

Lily had never been kidnapped.

Her aunt had taken her after a family tragedy and convinced her that her father had abandoned her forever.

For months, Lily had been hidden from everyone searching for her.

Her father fell to his knees.

Tears streamed down his face.

“I searched every day. Every single day.”

Lily stared at him.

Then slowly walked forward.

“Really?”

Her father nodded.

“I never stopped.”

For a moment, neither moved.

Then Lily ran into his arms.

The crowd burst into applause.

Mia wiped tears from her eyes.

The cloudy sky finally began to clear.

And for the first time in months, Lily felt safe.
