Part 2 : Victoria could barely stand.

“Where is she?” she whispered.

The little girl hesitated.

Then she handed Victoria a folded letter.

Victoria opened it with shaking hands.

The moment she saw the handwriting, tears filled her eyes.

Dear Victoria,

If you’re reading this, my daughter found you.

I never stopped looking for you.

Victoria’s vision blurred.

Twenty years earlier, Emma had disappeared during a devastating flood that destroyed their hometown.

Everyone assumed she had died.

Everyone except Victoria.

For years she searched.

Then eventually she gave up.

But Emma hadn’t died.

She had survived.

Injured. Alone. Forgotten.

She spent years moving from shelter to shelter while raising her daughter by herself.

And through all those years, she kept one photograph.

One promise.

One hope.

That someday Victoria would find them.

The little girl wiped her eyes.

“Mommy got sick last month.”

Victoria felt her heart stop.

“Where is she now?”

The child lowered her head.

“At the hospital.”

Victoria didn’t wait another second.

An hour later she burst through the hospital doors.

Machines beeped softly in the dim room.

Emma lay weak and pale in the bed.

For a moment neither sister spoke.

Then Emma smiled.

The same smile Victoria remembered from childhood.

“You finally found me.”

Victoria collapsed beside the bed, sobbing.

“I’m sorry,” she cried. “I’m so sorry.”

Emma reached out and squeezed her hand.

“You came.”

Those two simple words shattered Victoria completely.

For years she had built companies, bought mansions, and earned millions.

Yet nothing compared to that moment.

Nothing compared to finding her sister again.

A few months later, Emma’s health slowly improved.

Victoria moved them into her home and helped raise her niece.

One evening, as they sat together watching the sunset, the little girl smiled.

“You kept the promise after all.”

Victoria wrapped an arm around her.

And for the first time in twenty years, their family finally felt whole again.
