PART 2 — The Truth Sophia Hid

“Get down!” someone screamed.

The crowd scattered in panic.

Victor stepped forward anyway.

His eyes never left Sophia.

After eight years, she was finally standing in front of him.

And she looked terrified.

The armed man shoved Sophia back toward the SUV.

“Stay out of this, Black!”

Emily began crying.

“Mommy!”

Victor’s protective instincts exploded.

Without thinking, he rushed forward.

The gunman turned.

A shot rang out.

Sophia screamed.

“Victor!”

But the bullet never hit him.

One of Victor’s security guards tackled the gunman just in time.

Chaos erupted.

Minutes later, police sirens echoed through the country club.

The men were arrested.

Sophia collapsed into tears.

Victor gently wrapped his coat around her shoulders.

For several moments, neither of them spoke.

Finally, Sophia looked up.

“I tried to find you,” she whispered.

Victor stared at her.

“Then why did you leave?”

Fresh tears rolled down her cheeks.

“Because my father owed money to dangerous people. They threatened to kill you if I stayed. The only way to protect you was to disappear.”

Victor felt years of anger and confusion crumble away.

“And Emily?”

Sophia smiled sadly.

“She’s yours.”

The little girl stepped closer.

Victor looked into her eyes.

His eyes.

The same smile.

The same dimples.

His daughter.

All the years he had spent building a billion-dollar empire suddenly felt meaningless.

Slowly, he knelt before her.

Emily stared nervously.

“Are you really my daddy?”

Victor’s eyes filled with tears.

For the first time in years, he didn’t care who was watching.

“Yes,” he whispered.

Emily threw her arms around his neck.

Victor held her tightly, afraid to let go.

The crowd watched in silence as the billionaire cried openly in the middle of the parking lot.

Not because he had lost something.

But because, after eight years, he had finally found what mattered most.

His family.
