Emma’s heart stopped.
“What do you mean?” she whispered.
The biker removed his helmet completely.
For a moment, she couldn’t breathe.
Memories flooded back.
The eyes.
The voice.
The smile.
“No…” Emma stepped backward. “It can’t be…”
The biker nodded slowly.
“Ten years ago, before I disappeared… I was your father.”
The crowd gasped.
Emma’s hands trembled.
Her father had supposedly died in a construction accident when she was a child.
Tears rolled down her cheeks.
“You left me…”
“I didn’t,” he replied. “Someone wanted me gone.”
The woman in the white suit stepped forward.
“Your father uncovered millions of dollars in fraud inside this company. The manager’s family was involved.”
The manager suddenly shouted,
“She’s lying!”
But at that moment, dozens of board members arrived from the SUVs.
One of them held a folder.
“We’ve seen the evidence.”
The manager’s knees nearly gave out.
Security escorted him away as guests watched in stunned silence.
Emma turned back to her father.
“Why come back now?”
Mr. Cross smiled sadly.
“Because I promised your mother that one day I’d find you.”
Emma burst into tears and hugged him.
The entire plaza fell silent.
But as father and daughter embraced, a black car stopped across the street.
Inside, an unknown man watched them.
He picked up his phone.
“Target located,” he said.
“And he has no idea we’re still coming.”
