Part 2 — The Truth Beneath the Light

For a moment, there was only darkness.

Then—breathing.

The cathedral reappeared, but colder now. The celebration was gone. Guests stood frozen, as if afraid to move and break reality further.

Daniel was still on his knees, gripping the bracelet like it was the only solid thing left in the world.

“Answer me,” he said again, voice shaking. “Where is Elena?”

The boy stepped back slightly. His hands trembled.

“She told me… if anything happened… I had to find you.”

The bride’s voice cracked through the silence.

“Daniel… who is she?”

But Daniel didn’t hear her anymore.

His eyes locked on the boy’s face. The same eyes. The same expression. A reflection of something buried long ago.

Suddenly, a distant sound echoed from the back of the cathedral—soft footsteps.

Everyone turned.

A woman stood at the entrance.

Wearing simple clothes. No jewelry. No luxury. Only exhaustion… and truth.

“Elena…” Daniel whispered, barely audible.

The boy turned instantly.

“Mom…”

The word broke the entire room.

Elena took one step forward. Then another. Her voice was soft, but it carried through the shattered silence.

“I didn’t come to destroy your wedding,” she said. “I came because he deserved to know who you are… before you forget us forever.”

Daniel’s grip on the bracelet tightened until his knuckles turned white.

And for the first time—

the bride realized she was standing in the middle of a life that had already begun long before her.

The cathedral held its breath again… waiting for the next truth to fall.
