The next moment, no one moved.
The city around them kept going — footsteps, horns, life — but inside that small circle, time felt broken.
The woman finally spoke, but her voice wasn’t controlled anymore.
“That locket… I buried it.”
The homeless boy flinched slightly.
“You buried what?” the rich boy asked.
Her hands shook.
“Years ago… I was told one of my sons didn’t survive.”
Silence hit harder than sound.
The homeless boy laughed softly — not from humor, but disbelief.
“So I didn’t die,” he said. “I was just… thrown away.”
Her eyes filled instantly.
“I didn’t know…” she whispered. “I swear, I didn’t know.”
But the homeless boy stepped back.
“You chose not to know,” he said.
The rich boy looked between them, his voice breaking.
“So… he’s my brother?”
The woman collapsed slightly onto a nearby post, unable to hold herself up emotionally.
And then — a car horn blasted nearby.
A black luxury car stopped suddenly across the street.
A man in a suit stepped out… holding old hospital documents.
He looked directly at the woman.
And said:
“We need to finish what was hidden.”
The homeless boy turned sharply.
The woman whispered in terror:
“No… not now…”
The rich boy stepped forward:
“What else are you hiding from us?”
The man opened the folder.
And the final page revealed something no one expected…
