Part 2 – The Promise He Never Broke

The two broken pieces fit together perfectly.

A gasp swept through the restaurant.

The biker stared at the pendant as if time itself had stopped.

“Sarah kept it…” he whispered.

The elegant man’s confident smile disappeared.

“Give her to me,” he demanded.

The biker stood.

“No.”

For the first time, fear appeared in the man’s eyes.

The little girl hid behind the biker.

“My mom said you promised to protect us.”

Tears filled the biker’s eyes.

“I made that promise the night she saved my life.”

The man suddenly turned and ran toward the exit.

Before he reached the doors, two detectives stepped inside.

“We’ve been looking for you,” one of them said.

The restaurant erupted in whispers as the man was handcuffed.

The little girl looked up at the biker.

“Will you help me find my mom?”

He smiled for the first time in years.

“I won’t stop until we bring her home.”

As they walked out together, the pendant rested whole again in the biker’s hand—a promise finally kept, and the beginning of a journey neither of them would ever forget.
