I was breastfeeding my 5-month-old baby on a plane when the woman sitting next to me yelled, “You should be ashamed of yourself!
Go lock yourself in the bathroom!” — then my older daughter taught her a lesson she never expected.
A month ago, I buried my husband.
I was in such a dark place that when my mom invited us to stay with her so I could get at least a little relief from the nightmare, I agreed.
The plane was full, so my 8-year-old daughter, Louise, ended up sitting one row behind me.
With my 5-month-old son in my arms, I settled into the seat next to a woman.
The woman beside me already looked irritated before we even took off.
She immediately rolled her eyes and said:
“If your baby starts SCREAMING, I’m not going to sit here and listen to it.
I’M WARNING YOU!
You’ll have to do something about it.”
At first, I ignored her.
Besides, my son was sleeping peacefully.
But a few hours later, he started CRYING.
I immediately tried rocking him and offering him a pacifier, but nothing helped.
He was hungry.
So I covered myself with a nursing cover and started feeding him.
At that moment, the woman let out a loud sigh:
“OH MY GOD!
I paid for this seat not only to listen to someone else’s baby scream, but now I have to watch you feed him too?
HOW SHAMELESS!”
I gave her an apologetic smile and said:
“I’m sorry.
I just need to feed him.
He’s hungry…”
The woman rolled her eyes.
“People with babies like that should stay home.
What kind of mother are you if you can’t even calm your own child down?”
My cheeks were burning.
Everyone around us was staring because she was practically yelling for the whole cabin to hear.
I apologized AGAIN and said that I needed to finish feeding my baby and that he couldn’t go without food during a six-hour flight.
She gasped and said:
“Then LOCK YOURSELF in the bathroom and feed him there!
Why should I have to sit here and watch you do that?
Have some SHAME!”
Before I could respond, Louise came over to me and said:
“Mom, why don’t you take my seat?
I’ll sit next to this lady so she won’t feel uncomfortable.”
I agreed, and we switched seats.
When I sat down in Louise’s seat, I saw her open her tablet and show the woman SOMETHING.
The woman suddenly screamed, jumped up, and hurried away from her seat.
People all around us turned to see WHAT WAS HAPPENING.

What did Louise show that woman on that tablet?
