PART 2 : The letter began:

“Claire, if you’re reading this, Daniel has finally been caught.”

Claire’s hands started shaking.

The woman claimed Daniel had been living two completely separate lives for more than a decade.

Different homes.

Different anniversaries.

Different families.

But that wasn’t the worst part.

At the bottom of the letter was a bank statement showing hundreds of thousands of dollars transferred from Claire’s company into an account she had never seen before.

Claire stared at Daniel.

“You didn’t just cheat on me.”

Daniel stood up.

“Claire, please—”

“You stole from me.”

The boy suddenly interrupted.

“My mom said there’s something else.”

He reached into his pocket and placed a tiny key on the table.

Daniel froze.

For the first time, he looked genuinely terrified.

Claire picked up the key.

“What does this open?”

The boy looked toward Daniel and answered:

“The storage unit where Dad keeps everything he never wanted either family to find.”

Daniel grabbed his coat and ran toward the exit.

Claire immediately followed him.

But when she reached the parking lot…

Daniel’s car was already gone.

And taped beneath her windshield wiper was a handwritten note:

“DO NOT OPEN UNIT 317 IF YOU WANT YOUR CHILDREN TO STAY SAFE.”
