PART 2 : Richard stared at the man trying to leave the ballroom.

“STOP.”

The man froze.

Two hundred guests turned toward him.

Richard’s expression changed instantly.

It was his younger brother, Michael.

Victoria grabbed Richard’s arm.

“Please… don’t do this here.”

Richard pulled away from her.

“Why were you in Room 817?”

Nobody answered.

Then Sophie stepped forward.

“Because they were there together last night.”

The ballroom exploded with whispers.

Victoria immediately shouted:

“She’s lying! She planted the bracelet!”

Sophie calmly pulled out her phone.

“I knew you would say that.”

She pressed PLAY.

Victoria’s recorded voice filled the ballroom:

“Take the $20,000 and forget what you saw. Richard can never know Michael was in that room.”

Richard slowly turned toward his brother.

Michael couldn’t even look at him.

But Sophie wasn’t finished.

“The bracelet wasn’t the worst thing I found.”

She reached into her bag and placed a sealed envelope on the table.

Victoria suddenly lunged toward it.

“DON’T OPEN THAT!”

Richard grabbed the envelope first.

Inside was a DNA report.

His hands began trembling as he read it.

Then he looked across the ballroom at his sixteen-year-old son.

“No…”

Victoria started crying.

Michael lowered his head.

Richard stared at the final line again.

The boy he had raised his entire life…

wasn’t his biological son.

Richard looked at Michael.

“You?”

Michael whispered:

“I was going to tell you.”

Richard’s face twisted with rage.

But Sophie suddenly interrupted.

“There’s one more page.”

Richard slowly turned it over.

And what he saw made him collapse into a chair.

Because Michael wasn’t listed as the father either.

The real father’s name was someone else in that ballroom.

And when Richard looked up…

the man standing beside his own mother quietly began walking toward the exit.
