Part 2 : For a moment, no one reacted.

As if the world itself refused to process what had just been said.

Then Adrian moved.

His face changed — not suddenly, but completely. The warmth was gone. The doubt was gone.

What remained was something far colder.

Victoria’s back hit the edge of the staircase.

“No…” she whispered, shaking her head. “You don’t understand—”

“I understand perfectly,” Adrian said.

Each word landed like a verdict.

Elena collapsed into a chair behind him, her body giving in to everything she had been holding back. Quiet sobs filled the silence no one dared to break.

Victoria’s eyes darted around the room, searching for someone — anyone — to step in.

No one did.

Because now they all saw it.

The cracks beneath her perfection.

“You planned this,” Adrian continued, stepping closer. “You told me she was unstable. That she was dangerous…”

Victoria’s voice rose, desperate now. “She is! She’s lying to you!”

“Then why are you afraid?”

That question ended it.

Victoria froze.

Her heel slipped slightly on the polished floor as she took another step back — too close to the stairs now.

Adrian didn’t rush.

Didn’t shout.

He just kept walking forward.

Slow. Certain.

Like truth itself closing in.

“You took everything from her,” he said quietly. “And you thought no one would ever find out.”

Elena looked up, her tear-filled eyes locking onto his.

For the first time, she wasn’t alone.

Victoria’s breathing broke into panic.

“I didn’t mean to—” she started.

But it was too late.

Because intent didn’t matter anymore.

Only the fall did.

And this time—

There was nowhere left for her to run.
