Guests whispered wildly while cameras recorded everything live.
Veronica stared at Marcus in horror.
“You touched my sister?” she whispered.
Marcus looked trapped.
“It’s not what you think.”
Veronica laughed bitterly through tears.
“That little girl has your eyes.”
The child clutched Veronica’s dress tightly, terrified.
Marcus lowered his voice.
“Eva stole money from me and disappeared.”
“That’s a lie!” the little girl screamed suddenly.
Everyone turned toward her.
The girl pulled a small folded letter from inside her oversized shirt.
“My mommy said you’d lie.”
Veronica snatched the letter and unfolded it with trembling hands.
The first line destroyed her instantly.
Veronica… if you’re reading this, Marcus ruined all our lives.
Marcus lunged forward.
“Don’t read that!”
But Veronica stepped back.
The letter revealed everything.
Years ago, Marcus had secretly been having an affair with Eva while dating Veronica at the same time.
When Eva became pregnant, Marcus paid doctors to fake the baby’s death records so Veronica would never discover the betrayal.
But Eva escaped before he could take the child away.
Veronica’s hands shook violently as she finished reading.
“You let me mourn a child that was alive this whole time?”
Marcus’s voice hardened.
“You don’t understand how dangerous this could become.”
Suddenly the little girl whispered:
“There’s something else Mommy told me…”
Veronica knelt beside her.
“What is it, sweetheart?”
The child looked toward Marcus with fear.
“She said if he ever found us…”
Marcus suddenly shouted:
“STOP TALKING!”
Security guards began moving closer.
The girl burst into tears.
“She said he killed someone before!”
The entire rooftop went silent.
Then—
Police sirens echoed below the building.
Marcus’s face went pale.
Veronica slowly stepped away from him.
“What did you do?”
Marcus stared at everyone around him… then suddenly ran toward the rooftop exit.
The little girl screamed.
Veronica chased after him into the night—
—and the screen cuts to black.
