Part 2 : Nobody spoke for several seconds.

The fountain continued flowing behind them.

Finally, Rose’s father whispered,

“How old are you?”

“Twelve.”

His heart sank.

The number matched perfectly.

Years ago, Elena had disappeared without warning.

He had searched for months.

Then for years.

Eventually, everyone told him to move on.

So he did.

Or at least he tried.

The boy handed him a folded letter.

“My mother told me to give you this.”

With trembling hands, he opened it.

The handwriting was unmistakable.

If you’re reading this, I’m gone.

I never left because I stopped loving you.

I left because powerful people threatened our lives after the accident.

I protected our son the only way I knew how.

Tears rolled down his face.

Rose watched silently.

Then something strange happened.

A sudden tingling spread through her legs.

She gasped.

“Dad…”

Everyone turned.

Rose gripped the arms of her wheelchair.

Her legs were shaking.

For the first time in three years.

The boy stepped forward.

“You can do it.”

Rose looked terrified.

“I can’t.”

“Yes, you can.”

The entire world seemed to stop.

Slowly…

Rose pushed herself upward.

One second.

Two seconds.

Three.

She was standing.

Her father burst into tears.

Rose took one shaky step.

Then another.

The boy smiled through his tears.

“My mother said you’d walk again.”

Rose looked at him.

“No.”

A tear rolled down her cheek.

“She gave me something even better.”

“What?”

Rose reached out and hugged him.

“A brother.”

As the sun set over the estate, the family stood together for the first time.

Not because fate had been kind.

But because love had finally found its way home.
