Part 2 – The Secret He Never Told Anyone

The rooftop erupted into screams.

Guests rushed toward Victor as he stared at his trembling foot in disbelief.

“It’s impossible…” he whispered.

The boy stood and took a slow step back.

“I didn’t heal you,” he said.

“I only removed what was stopping you.”

Victor’s face turned pale.

“What… does that mean?”

The boy looked toward the city skyline.

“Eight years ago, someone lied to you.”

Victor’s heartbeat pounded in his ears.

“The doctors said my spine was destroyed.”

“They believed what they were paid to believe.”

The crowd froze.

Victor felt strength returning to his leg.

Then his phone vibrated.

A message appeared on the screen from an unknown number.

DON’T STAND UP. THEY’RE WATCHING.

Victor slowly lifted his head.

Across the rooftop, a man in a black suit lowered his sunglasses and quietly reached inside his jacket.

The boy whispered only three words.

“Run… right now.”

The screen cuts to black.
