Part 2: The Promise That Never Died

Daniel pulled back, staring at the boy as if he had seen a ghost.

“That’s impossible,” he whispered.

“My father told me you’d say that,” the boy replied.

From his torn jacket, the child carefully removed an old, weathered envelope sealed with faded blue wax.

“It’s for you.”

Daniel’s trembling fingers broke the seal.

Inside was a handwritten letter.

Daniel… if you’re reading this, I survived. But staying hidden was the only way to protect my son—and to expose the people who betrayed us both.

Daniel’s heartbeat pounded in his ears.

Only one person alive could have written those words.

Only Scott knew about the promise they had made ten years earlier.

A promise to return.

A promise Daniel had believed was buried forever.

Suddenly, every phone in the ballroom buzzed at the exact same moment.

Guests looked down in confusion.

The giant screens above the stage flickered to life.

A live video appeared.

A man stepped out of the shadows.

Older.

Scarred.

But unmistakable.

Scott.

He looked directly into the camera.

“Hello, Daniel.”

The ballroom fell into complete silence.

Then Scott smiled.

“It’s time for everyone to learn who really tried to kill me.”

The End… or is it?
