The entire office fell silent as the video filled the monitor.
A smiling woman appeared on the screen.
“If you’re watching this,” she began, “it means my daughter has finally come to the bank.”
Arya gasped.
“Mom…”
Tears rolled down her cheeks.
The woman continued.
“Maxwell… I know you’re standing there. Twenty years ago, you betrayed me because you believed money mattered more than family. You never knew I was pregnant when I disappeared.”
Maxwell’s face turned white.
“No…”
“I built my own investment company from nothing. Every dollar in this account belongs to Arya. Not because she inherited my fortune… but because she earned my love.”
The room was silent.
“But there’s one truth I kept from everyone.”
She looked directly into the camera.
“Maxwell…”
“You are Arya’s father.”
The CEO stumbled backward, unable to breathe.
Arya stared at him in disbelief.
“You… you’re my dad?”
Before Maxwell could answer, the bank’s front doors burst open.
Federal investigators rushed inside.
“Maxwell Grant!”
“Don’t move!”
“We have a warrant for your arrest.”
Maxwell looked at Arya one last time as handcuffs clicked around his wrists.
“I can explain…”
Arya clutched her mother’s card, tears streaming down her face.
For the first time in her life, she had found the truth.
But it had come twenty years too late.
