My Daughter-in-Law Told Me I Was “Too Old” to Wear a Swimsuit — I Was Ready to Change in Shame When Karma Stepped InMy Daughter-in-Law Told Me I Was “Too Old” to Wear a Swimsuit — I Was Ready to Change in Shame When Karma Stepped In
I’m 68 years old, and until this weekend, I genuinely didn’t know there was apparently an expiration date on wearing a swimsuit.
My son Daniel had everyone over for a barbecue and pool day because the grandkids are out of school. I brought a black one-piece I bought earlier this summer. It wasn’t revealing or unusual. I actually thought it looked nice on me, and my granddaughter Emily had been begging me to swim with her, so I changed and went outside.
The second my daughter-in-law Claire saw me, she gave me this strange look and said:
“Oh. You’re actually going in the pool?”
I laughed because I thought she was joking. She wasn’t. She looked me up and down and said:
“I just think at a certain age you have to be realistic about what people want to see.”
I asked her what that was supposed to mean, and she said:
“Patricia, you’re almost 70. You have wrinkles everywhere. There are teenagers here. I’m just saying maybe a cover-up would be more appropriate.”
I was so embarrassed I didn’t even argue with her. I wrapped my towel around myself and was about to head back inside when karma stepped in and taught my daughter-in-law a lesson in the most unexpected way.

What did karma do to Claire right there at that pool? Comment **”YES”** if you want Part 2 — it’s in the comments.
