Part 2 : The entire lobby fell silent.

Daniel turned slowly toward his fiancée, his voice cold now. “What is she talking about?”

The woman tried to laugh, but no sound came out.

“She’s lying,” she said. “She’s just a child—”

“No,” the girl cried, reaching into her coat again. “My mommy said if anything happened to her, I had to give you this.”

She handed Daniel a small silver key and a crumpled note.

His fingers shook as he opened it.

“Daniel, if you’re reading this, they lied to you. I never left. I was taken.”

His breath caught.

At the bottom of the note was one final line:

“Ask your fiancée what happened the night of the fire.”

Daniel looked up.

His fiancée was already backing away.

“You don’t understand—” she whispered.

But suddenly a woman’s voice came from the hotel entrance.

“I think he understands perfectly.”

Everyone turned.

A pale, exhausted woman stood in the doorway, rain pouring behind her.

The same woman from the photograph.

Alive.

The little girl screamed, “Mommy!”

Daniel’s knees nearly gave out.

His fiancée stumbled backward, horror written all over her face.

And as the woman stepped into the light, she looked directly at Daniel and said:

“She told you I was dead… because she was the one who tried to kill me.”

If you want, I can also write the next one in an even more scandalous Facebook-style format with a stronger viral hook.
