Part 2 : The businessman stared at Emily.

Then he laughed.

“Her? The owner?”

Emily wiped the tears from her face.

The elderly woman didn’t smile.

“She inherited this restaurant six months ago. She chose to keep working as a waitress because she wanted to know how the staff—and the customers—treated people when they thought she had no power.”

The manager’s face suddenly went pale.

Emily slowly turned toward him.

“You knew who I was.”

He couldn’t answer.

That silence told her everything.

Then the businessman stood up.

“Listen, this has been a misunderstanding. I’ll pay for the plates. I’ll even replace her salary.”

Emily looked at him.

“My salary?”

The old woman quietly placed a folder on the table.

The businessman saw the name on the front—and froze.

His company’s name.

Emily opened it.

“You came here tonight because you wanted our family to invest $12 million in your new hotel.”

His arrogance disappeared instantly.

“Emily… we can discuss this privately.”

“No.”

She turned toward the crowded restaurant.

“You wanted to humiliate me publicly. So you can hear my answer publicly.”

She tore the unsigned investment agreement in half.

“The deal is over.”

The man’s face collapsed.

But Emily wasn’t finished.

She looked toward the manager.

“And you fired an employee you knew had done nothing wrong just because a wealthy customer demanded it.”

The manager whispered:

“Emily, please…”

She removed her waitress apron and placed it in his hands.

“You were right about one thing. Someone is leaving tonight.”

He swallowed.

Emily pointed toward the door.

“You.”

The restaurant erupted in shocked whispers.

The businessman grabbed his coat and rushed toward the exit.

Then the elderly woman called after him:

“Mr. Carter?”

He stopped.

She delivered the final blow.

“Your wife called me this morning.”

His face went white.

“She already knows where you really were last night.”

The woman sitting at his table suddenly stood up and quietly walked away.

And for the first time that evening…

the millionaire had absolutely nothing to say.
