Part 2 : My hands were shaking as I looked inside.

The man I married… felt like a stranger.

He was crouched beside the bathtub—
holding a timer… and a small paper cup.

Speaking softly. Calmly.

Too calmly.

My daughter sat frozen in the water,
eyes wide, silent… scared.

That was it.

No more doubt. No more excuses.

I stepped back, barely breathing—
and called the police.

Minutes felt like hours.

When they arrived, everything changed.

The questions.
The silence.
The look on his face when they took him away.

I held my daughter all night.

She didn’t say much…
but she didn’t let go of me.

And I made one promise—
the only one that mattered:

No more secrets. Ever again.
