The diner remained silent.
Nobody dared move.
The biker stared at the little girl.
His hands trembled.
“Rose is your mother?”
The child nodded.
Tears rolled down her cheeks.
“I haven’t seen her in three days.”
The biker felt like the floor had disappeared beneath him.
Three days.
Rose was missing.
Again.
The man by the window took a step backward.
The biker noticed immediately.
“Don’t.”
The warning came out like thunder.
The man froze.
The little girl reached into her pocket.
“My mommy gave me this.”
She handed the biker a small silver necklace.
The moment he saw it, his eyes filled with tears.
It was the necklace he had given Rose eleven years ago.
On the night he promised he would always come back for her.
Inside the pendant was a tiny photograph.
The biker opened it.
And his entire world shattered.
One side showed Rose.
The other side showed a baby.
A newborn baby.
Written beneath the photo were four words.
“Her father is you.”
The biker couldn’t breathe.
The little girl…
Was his daughter.
For six years he had never known she existed.
The child looked up.
“Are you crying?”
He dropped to his knees.
Pulling her into his arms.
For the first time in years, he let himself cry.
“Yes.”
The little girl hugged him tightly.
“Mom said you’d protect me.”
The biker kissed the top of her head.
“With my life.”
Suddenly the diner doors burst open.
Everyone jumped.
A frightened waitress pointed outside.
“Oh my God…”
The biker turned toward the window.
A black SUV had stopped in front of the diner.
Three men stepped out.
And between them…
A woman.
Bruised.
Weak.
Barely standing.
Rose.
The biker’s heart stopped.
Rose slowly lifted her head.
Their eyes met.
And despite everything…
She smiled.
Then one of the men pulled a gun.
