“Alive…?” he whispers.
The mother’s hands are shaking now.
The girl hides behind her coat.
“You think your daughter died that night…” she says quietly.
“But she didn’t.”
Close-up — his eyes fill with disbelief.
“They told you she was too weak. Too small…”
Her voice cracks.
“But someone paid the hospital to make her disappear.”
FLASHBACK —
A nurse turning away.
Documents being signed.
A crying baby taken into the shadows.
Back to present.
“I couldn’t have children,” the woman continues.
“I was desperate… broken…”
Tears fall.
“I raised her. Loved her. Protected her.”
The man drops to his knees in the snow.
Ten years of grief… collapsing in seconds.
He looks at the girl.
Same eyes.
Same smile.
His voice breaks:
“She’s… mine…”
The girl looks confused.
Scared.
Curious.
“Mom…?” she whispers.
The woman closes her eyes.
“I always knew this day would come…”
Snow keeps falling.
No music. Just breath and silence.
Text on screen:
“What would you do… if your child was stolen from you?”
