Part 2 : The crowd didn’t breathe…

Not a sound.

The man’s grip tightened.

Not fear—

Instinct.

The woman stepped closer.

Still calm. Too calm.

“You just committed a crime,” she said quietly.

Phones zoomed in.

Comments already forming.
Hero… or criminal?

Sirens in the distance.

The child buried their face into his chest—

“She’s lying…”

A whisper.

But loud enough.

The man looked down—
then back at the woman.

Something clicked.

“You should step back,” he said.

Low. Controlled.

For the first time—

Her expression flickered.

Just for a second.

Then gone.

Police lights flooded the street.

Red. Blue. Chaos.

The crowd split.

Everyone waiting for the truth.

But right before anyone spoke—

The child said one more thing:

“She’s not my mom…”

CUT.
