Part 2 : The entire terminal felt like it had stopped breathing.

The man stood under the harsh lights, water dripping from his coat, eyes locked on Veronica.

Not angry.

Worse.

Calm.

“You should have told her the truth,” he said.

Veronica’s voice cracked.

“You’re dead.”

He took a step forward.

“That’s what you wanted everyone to believe.”

The girl stepped between them, confused.

“Mommy…?”

Veronica knelt instantly, grabbing the girl’s shoulders.

“Listen to me. He is not your father.”

But the man shook his head.

“She has my eyes, Veronica.”

A silence dropped so heavy it felt physical.

Then he pulled something from his pocket.

A faded hospital bracelet.

The girl’s name.

And a date.

Her birth date.

Veronica went pale.

“No…” she whispered. “That file was destroyed.”

The man’s voice dropped lower.

“You didn’t destroy it. You hid it.”

Suddenly the girl began crying.

“Why are you lying?!”

Security alarms started blinking.

Outside, black cars surrounded the terminal.

Someone had arrived.

And they were not here to ask questions.

The man looked at Veronica one last time.

“They found us.”

Veronica whispered:

“You came back… just to ruin everything.”

He leaned closer.

“No.”

A beat.

Then the final line:

“I came back to save her from you.”
