Only the sound of the boy’s quiet crying echoed beneath the chandeliers.
The manager’s hands shook uncontrollably.
“I didn’t have a choice…” she whispered.
The founder slammed his cane against the marble.
“You framed her.”
Gasps spread across the showroom.
The manager broke instantly.
“She found out about the missing diamonds!” she cried. “She saw what your son was doing!”
The founder froze.
“My… son?”
The manager nodded through tears.
“Richard stole millions from the company for years. Anna discovered everything. She threatened to expose him.”
The old man’s face lost all color.
“But Richard said nobody would believe a poor cashier over the owner’s son,” the manager whispered. “He told us to blame her instead.”
The wealthy customers who had mocked the little boy moments earlier slowly lowered their phones in shame.
The founder looked physically sick.
“Where is Anna now?” he asked desperately.
The boy wiped his tears with his sleeve.
“She’s at the hospital,” he whispered. “She’s really sick.”
The founder turned immediately.
“Prepare the car.”
But before anyone could move—
A deep voice interrupted from the showroom entrance.
“That won’t be necessary.”
Everyone turned.
A tall man in an expensive black suit stepped inside surrounded by lawyers and security guards.
Richard.
The founder’s son.
His cold eyes landed directly on the child.
For one brief second—
Fear flashed across his face.
Then he smiled.
“Well,” Richard said calmly, “looks like the past finally came back.”
The founder stepped toward him with fury burning in his eyes.
“You destroyed an innocent woman’s life!”
Richard laughed softly.
“Innocent?” he said. “Then maybe you should tell them the truth about who Anna really was.”
The founder froze.
The manager looked horrified.
And the little boy whispered:
“What truth…?”
Richard slowly pulled a faded photograph from his pocket and dropped it onto the marble floor.
The boy picked it up carefully.
His eyes widened instantly.
Because standing beside his mother in the picture—
was the founder himself.
Twenty years younger.
Holding her in his arms.
