Part 2: The Name Inside the System

Nobody moved.

Nobody breathed.

Even the music felt too loud now.

Ethan stared at the open jet door.

Damian stared at Ethan.

“No…” Damian whispered.

The older woman’s champagne glass slipped from her hand.

CRASH.

People jumped.

Ethan slowly looked back.

“What is it?” he asked innocently.

Damian rushed forward.

“Don’t touch anything!”

Too late.

Ethan stepped inside.

The cabin lights switched on automatically.

Then every screen inside the jet lit up.

Photos appeared.

Hundreds of them.

Ethan as a baby.

Ethan learning to walk.

Ethan sleeping.

Ethan with his mother.

Dates.

Locations.

Years of memories.

The crowd looked at Damian.

Then back at Ethan.

The boy blinked.

Confused.

Slowly, he turned around.

“Mom told me my father disappeared before I was born…”

He looked directly at Damian.

“…so why does your jet know who I am?”

Damian opened his mouth.

Nothing came out.
