The boy spoke softly:
“My mom’s name is Elena Carter.”
The moment the name left his lips, Harrison Blake staggered back like he had been shot.
The flight attendants exchanged confused looks.
But Harrison… was no longer in the present.
He whispered:
“No… that’s impossible.”
The boy stepped back.
“Do you know her?”
Harrison’s eyes filled with tears he clearly hadn’t shed in years.
“I didn’t just know her…”
He swallowed hard.
“I was supposed to marry her.”
The cabin went dead silent.
A flight attendant dropped her headset.
The boy’s voice cracked.
“My mom said you disappeared before I was born…”
Harrison took another step closer, shaking.
“I didn’t disappear… I was taken away.”
A sudden turbulence shook the jet violently.
Lights flickered.
And then—
The intercom crackled to life.
“Captain to cabin crew… we have an unidentified passenger in the cargo area…”
Harrison froze.
Slowly, he turned toward the door.
And whispered:
“She’s here…”
The boy looked up.
“Mom?”
The cabin door began to open from the outside.
