Helena tried to interrupt.
“She’s lying!”
But Lily reached into her purse and slowly pulled out an old hospital bracelet, a birth certificate, and a faded photograph of Adrian holding a newborn baby.
“You never even knew she was born,” Lily said through tears.
Adrian’s hands began to shake as he looked at the date.
Helena had forged letters years ago, making Adrian believe Lily had abandoned him forever.
“I did it because I couldn’t let you choose her,” Helena confessed.
The ballroom watched in stunned silence.
Adrian turned to Lily.
“I’m so sorry.”
Then he knelt before the little girl standing quietly beside the kitchen door.
“Can you forgive me for missing all these years?”
The child smiled through her tears and wrapped her arms around him.
Helena was escorted out of the mansion as every guest watched.
That night, Adrian canceled the celebration.
Instead, he sat beside Lily and their daughter, promising that no one would ever tear their family apart again.
For the first time in years, they weren’t strangers anymore.
They were finally home.
