No one spoke.
Patricia Hartwell suddenly turned pale and tried to leave the ballroom.
“Stop her!” Evelyn shouted.
Security blocked the exit.
Shaking, Patricia finally confessed.
Twenty-three years earlier, she had secretly paid a corrupt hospital employee to make Evelyn believe her youngest daughter had died after birth.
The baby had instead been abandoned at an orphanage so Patricia’s wealthy family could secure a business marriage without “complications.”
The ballroom erupted in shock.
The groom stared at his mother in horror.
“You stole a child?” he whispered.
Patricia lowered her head.
“I thought no one would ever find out.”
Hannah walked across the ballroom and embraced Ava through tears.
“I’ve spent my whole life wishing I had a sister.”
Ava cried as she hugged her back.
“I never stopped wondering where I came from.”
The guests applauded while Patricia stood completely alone.
The wedding never resumed.
Instead, it became the day one family lost everything…
…and another family was finally reunited.
