Part 2: The Secret Under the Fire

Nobody moved.

Nobody breathed.

Jack stared at Tommy as his hands slowly curled into fists.

“What did you do?” he asked.

Tommy laughed quietly.

“You still don’t know?”

Jack’s heart suddenly started pounding.

The little girl looked confused.

Tommy pulled an old photograph from inside his coat and tossed it onto the table.

Jack looked down.

Then froze.

It was a picture from twenty years ago.

Three people stood smiling beside motorcycles:

Jack.

Anna.

And Tommy.

The little girl looked between them.

“What is that?”

Tommy’s smile disappeared.

“Because your grandfather never told you the truth.”

Silence.

Jack slowly closed his eyes.

“No…”

Tommy looked directly at the little girl.

“He isn’t just your protector.”

The little girl felt her chest tighten.

Tommy stepped closer.

Jack looked like he couldn’t breathe.

Then Tommy spoke.

“He is your grandfather.”

The little girl’s eyes widened.

Jack felt tears running down his face.

Because after twenty years of lies—

the truth had finally found them.

And outside, lightning split the sky in half.
