Part 2 : The silence after Emma’s words felt heavier than the wedding itself.

Daniel took a step forward, but the woman raised her hand.

“No,” she said sharply. “You don’t get to control this anymore.”

She turned to Emma.

“My name is Laura. And I’ve been married to him for four years.”

Gasps exploded through the guests.

Emma staggered back.

“That’s impossible…” she whispered. “He told me he was divorced.”

Laura laughed bitterly.

“Divorced? He never even filed.”

The little girl clutched Daniel’s sleeve.

“Daddy, don’t lie…”

Daniel’s voice cracked.

“I was going to fix everything… I just needed time.”

Emma suddenly ripped off her veil.

“No,” she said coldly. “You didn’t need time. You needed honesty.”

She stepped away from him.

The guests began recording. Phones rose everywhere. The perfect wedding was now a public disaster.

Then Emma did something no one expected.

She took the ring off her finger… and placed it into Daniel’s hand.

“You don’t get to marry either of us,” she said quietly.

A long silence followed.

Then Laura spoke again:

“So what now?”

Emma looked at her… and for the first time, her voice was calm.

“Now… we make sure he never lies to anyone again.”

Daniel’s expression changed—fear replacing confidence.

Outside the garden, sirens suddenly echoed closer.

And Daniel realized…

someone had already called the police.
