The first person to step out wasn’t a bodyguard.
It was the airport’s CEO.
Behind him came executives, security directors, and a team of assistants.
Every one of them walked directly toward the elderly man.
“Mr. Grant,” the CEO said respectfully, “we’ve been waiting for your signal.”
Lisa’s face turned pale.
Ethan looked completely confused.
“Who are you?” he asked.
Harold smiled.
“I own this airport.”
Silence swept through the terminal.
Harold turned toward Lisa.
“You threatened to fire the only employee who showed compassion.”
Then he faced Ethan.
“You gave up your job for a stranger.”
Harold reached into his briefcase and handed Ethan a business card.
“Starting today, you’re no longer a janitor.”
“I want you to become Director of Customer Experience.”
Ethan blinked in disbelief.
“But… I have no management experience.”
Harold smiled.
“I can teach leadership.”
“I can’t teach kindness.”
The passengers erupted into applause.
Lisa quietly lowered her head as airport security escorted her away.
Ethan looked around the terminal one last time.
That morning, he thought he had lost everything.
Instead…
He had just changed his life forever.
