The guests stood frozen as Emma lowered her eyes.
“It’s not poison,” she said softly. “It’s medicine.”
Nobody believed her.
Then Emma turned the phone toward everyone.
“Watch the full video.”
The recording continued.
Moments after adding the liquid, another man entered the room wearing a black suit. He grabbed the bottle from Emma’s hands, replaced it with an identical one, and secretly poured a different substance into Daniel’s glass.
The crowd gasped.
“The real poison wasn’t mine,” Emma whispered.
Before anyone could react, the mysterious man tried to slip away through the garden.
The maid pointed at him.
“That’s him!”
Security guards tackled the man before he reached the exit.
Police later confirmed the drink contained a deadly toxin.
Daniel looked at Emma, overwhelmed with guilt.
“I’m sorry… I thought you wanted me dead.”
Emma smiled through tears.
“I was trying to save you all along.”
As the guests erupted into applause, Daniel took Emma’s hand once again.
This time, they raised fresh glasses.
And everyone made sure they were safe.
