Part 2 : Vanessa laughed.”Oh, please. She’s nobody.”

The older guard carefully picked up the document and handed it back to Lena with both hands.

“I’m so sorry, Ms. Carter.”

The lobby fell silent.

Vanessa’s smile disappeared.

“Ms… Carter?”

The concierge stepped forward immediately.

“Our CEO has been waiting for her.”

He turned toward Lena.

“Your appointment to finalize the purchase of this entire building starts in five minutes.”

Every phone recording the scene suddenly pointed at Vanessa instead.

The businessmen who had laughed looked away in embarrassment.

Vanessa’s face turned ghost white.

“I… I didn’t know…”

Lena calmly placed her document back into her bag.

“You never asked,” she replied.

Then she stepped into the private elevator as every employee respectfully greeted her.

The doors closed.

Vanessa stood alone in the silent lobby while hundreds of eyes watched the woman who had mistaken kindness for weakness.
