Part 2 : Victoria snatched the photograph from Ella’s hand.

It had been taken eight years earlier.

Ella’s mother, Rebecca, was standing outside a small lakeside hotel.

And beside her—with one arm wrapped around her waist—was Daniel.

Victoria stared at her husband.

“You knew her?”

Daniel didn’t answer.

That silence told her everything.

But the photograph contained something even worse.

Rebecca was wearing the exact diamond necklace now hanging around Victoria’s neck.

Victoria grabbed it with both hands.

“You told me your grandmother gave you this.”

Daniel finally whispered,

“I can explain.”

“Then explain it.”

Ella began crying.

“My mommy told me that if I ever saw that necklace again, I should find the man who took it.”

Several guests quietly raised their phones.

Daniel looked around the room.

His calm billionaire image was collapsing in seconds.

Victoria stepped closer.

“What happened to her?”

Daniel shook his head.

“Nothing. I swear.”

Then an older man near the back of the room suddenly spoke.

“That’s a lie.”

Everyone turned.

It was Daniel’s former driver, Thomas.

Daniel’s expression changed instantly.

“Thomas. Don’t.”

But Thomas walked forward.

“I drove Mr. Whitmore to Rebecca’s house the night she disappeared.”

Victoria covered her mouth.

Ella stared at him.

Thomas continued.

“When he came back to the car, Rebecca wasn’t with him.”

Daniel shouted,

“STOP.”

Thomas didn’t.

“But he was carrying her necklace.”

The room erupted.

Victoria ripped the diamonds from her neck and threw them at Daniel’s feet.

“You gave me jewelry you took from a missing woman?”

Daniel looked desperate now.

“It wasn’t like that!”

Then Ella quietly asked the question nobody else had thought to ask.

“If my mommy disappeared eight years ago…”

She looked directly at Daniel.

“…why did she send me a birthday card last month?”

Silence.

Daniel froze.

Victoria slowly turned toward Ella.

“What?”

Ella reached into her pocket again.

She unfolded a small envelope.

Inside was a handwritten message:

“Ella, when you finally find the necklace, don’t trust Daniel. Find Victoria. She doesn’t know the truth.”

Victoria stared at the note.

Then she noticed something written on the back.

An address.

Her hands began shaking.

Because she recognized it immediately.

It was the address of a property Daniel had secretly owned for years.

And suddenly Victoria understood something terrifying.

Rebecca might not have disappeared at all.

Someone had been hiding her.
