Panic flooded his face.
He instantly pushed the woman in red away from him as if she had burned him. She lost her balance and fell onto the grass, stunned.
He ran after his wife.
“My love, wait!” he shouted desperately. “I can explain everything. Please don’t leave.”
But explanations suddenly sounded small… meaningless.
She didn’t stop walking.
The twins rested peacefully against her chest, unaware that their family had just cracked in half.
He reached out, almost touching her shoulder — but she stepped forward without turning around.
In that moment, he understood something too late:
It wasn’t the other woman who had fallen.
It was his marriage.
And some things, once broken, never return to what they were.
The gate closed softly behind her.
This time, she didn’t look back.
