Part 2 : Claire’s sister, Rachel, walked slowly toward the altar.

The little girl ran straight into her arms.

Claire stared at them.

Rachel’s voice shook.

“Daniel didn’t just know me. We were married.”

Gasps exploded through the cathedral.

Claire turned toward Daniel.

“You were MARRIED to my sister?”

Daniel stepped forward.

“It ended years ago.”

Rachel suddenly laughed.

“No. It didn’t.”

She opened her handbag and dropped several documents onto the altar.

Their divorce had never been finalized.

Daniel was still legally married to Rachel.

But that wasn’t the worst part.

Claire picked up another paper.

It was a DNA report.

Her hands began trembling.

The little girl was Daniel’s daughter.

Claire slapped the papers against his chest.

“You knew?”

Daniel said nothing.

That silence answered everything.

Then Rachel looked directly at Claire and said:

“He didn’t choose you because he loved you.”

Claire froze.

Rachel continued:

“He needed access to the trust Dad left in your name.”

Daniel’s mother suddenly stood up and shouted:

“Rachel, shut your mouth!”

Everyone turned toward her.

Claire’s face changed.

“You knew too?”

The woman said nothing.

Claire removed her engagement ring and dropped it onto the floor.

Then the little girl whispered:

“Mom… should we tell her what happened to Grandpa?”

Rachel went completely pale.

Daniel lunged forward.

“Enough!”

But Claire stepped between them.

“No. I want to hear everything.”

Rachel looked at her sister and quietly said:

“Then you need to know why Dad changed his will three days before he died…”

The cathedral doors suddenly slammed shut behind them.

And the man standing there was someone Claire had been told was dead for nine years.
