Part 2 : Claire nearly dropped the photograph.

Across the ballroom stood her husband’s younger brother, Daniel.

The same Daniel who had comforted her after the funeral.

The same Daniel who now controlled half of her late husband’s company.

And the same Daniel who had insisted the death was an accident.

Daniel’s smile disappeared.

Claire walked toward him.

“Why are you in this picture?”

Guests began pulling out their phones.

Daniel glanced toward the exit.

But the boy suddenly shouted:

“That’s him! That’s the man my father was afraid of!”

Daniel froze.

Claire’s voice cracked.

“Who is your father?”

The boy looked at her.

“Thomas Reed.”

Claire felt the blood drain from her face.

Thomas Reed had been her husband’s private driver.

And according to police records…

he had died the same night as her husband.

“No,” Claire whispered. “Thomas is dead.”

The boy shook his head.

“He’s alive.”

Then he pointed toward the hotel entrance.

Everyone turned.

A thin, scarred man stepped through the doors.

Claire recognized him instantly.

Thomas.

Alive.

Daniel backed away.

Thomas looked straight at Claire and said:

“Your husband’s death wasn’t an accident.”

Claire’s eyes filled with tears.

“Then who killed him?”

Thomas slowly raised his hand…

and pointed at someone standing directly behind Claire.

She turned around.

And screamed.
