Part 2 : Rebecca stood in the middle of the ballroom while hundreds of guests recorded everything.

Victoria could barely speak.

“You’ve been married to Daniel for twenty-two years?”

Rebecca smiled.

“Yes.”

Ethan looked at his brother.

“You were married this entire time?”

Daniel said nothing.

Rebecca stepped closer to the stage.

“Daniel handled your business.”

“I handled Victoria.”

Victoria looked sick.

“You were my assistant.”

“I was your life.”

Rebecca’s voice stayed calm.

“I knew when you woke up.”

“Where you went.”

“What you signed.”

“What you feared.”

“What you loved.”

Victoria whispered:

“And you used all of it.”

Rebecca nodded.

“For years.”

The investigator stepped between them.

“Why?”

Rebecca looked at Ethan.

“Because the Cole family stole something from us first.”

Ethan frowned.

“What?”

Rebecca reached into her bag.

She pulled out an old legal document.

A partnership agreement.

Dated twenty-eight years earlier.

Two names appeared on it.

Ethan Cole

and

Samuel Shaw

Rebecca’s late father.

Ethan stared.

“Samuel?”

Rebecca nodded.

“My father built half your company.”

Ethan shook his head.

“No.”

Daniel finally spoke.

“She’s right.”

Ethan turned toward him.

Daniel continued.

“Dad erased Samuel from the ownership records.”

Rebecca’s face hardened.

“He died with nothing.”

Victoria looked at Ethan.

“Did you know?”

Ethan shook his head.

“No.”

Rebecca laughed.

“Convenient.”

The investigator examined the document.

“It looks authentic.”

Rebecca continued.

“My father owned forty percent of Cole Development.”

Ethan stared.

“That company is worth nearly three billion.”

Rebecca nodded.

“Exactly.”

The room went silent.

Daniel looked at Ethan.

“Dad stole billions from her family.”

Ethan snapped:

“So you decided to destroy mine?”

Daniel’s expression didn’t change.

“Yes.”

Victoria stepped forward.

“You made me betray my husband.”

Rebecca looked at her.

“No.”

“You chose to.”

Victoria stopped.

Rebecca continued.

“We gave you fear.”

“You supplied the greed.”

Victoria slapped the table.

“I moved the money because I thought Ethan was dying!”

Rebecca smiled faintly.

“You also planned the divorce.”

Victoria said nothing.

Ethan looked at her again.

That silence hurt more than any recording.

The investigator asked:

“Where is the twelve million now?”

Rebecca looked at Daniel.

Daniel looked back.

Neither answered.

Then Sophie spoke from the booth.

“I found it.”

Everyone turned.

She had traced the transfer.

But her expression was strange.

The investigator asked:

“Where?”

Sophie stared at the screen.

“It never left the United States.”

Rebecca’s smile faded.

Daniel turned toward her.

“What?”

Sophie continued.

“It went into a trust.”

Ethan frowned.

“What trust?”

Sophie read the name.

The Amelia Cole Trust.

Ethan froze.

Victoria whispered:

“Who is Amelia Cole?”

Daniel looked at Rebecca.

Rebecca looked furious.

The investigator noticed.

“You know that name.”

Rebecca said nothing.

Ethan stepped closer.

“Who is Amelia?”

Daniel finally answered:

“My daughter.”

Ethan stared.

“You have a daughter?”

Daniel nodded.

Rebecca turned toward him.

“You said we would never mention her.”

Victoria looked between them.

Rebecca suddenly looked less confident.

Ethan asked:

“Why was the money transferred to her trust?”

Nobody answered.

Then a young woman stood up from one of the back tables.

Mid-twenties.

Black dress.

Calm expression.

She had been sitting among donors the entire night.

Rebecca saw her.

Her face went white.

“Amelia?”

The young woman walked toward the stage.

Daniel whispered:

“What are you doing here?”

Amelia smiled.

“You invited me.”

Daniel shook his head.

“No, I didn’t.”

She held up her phone.

“You sent the invitation from your private account.”

Rebecca looked at Daniel.

Daniel looked genuinely confused.

Amelia continued.

“And you transferred twelve million into my trust.”

“I didn’t.”

Amelia nodded toward Sophie.

“Check the authorization.”

Sophie did.

Then froze.

The transfer authorization had Daniel’s biometric approval.

Fingerprint.

Voice match.

Security key.

Daniel stared.

“That’s impossible.”

Amelia smiled.

“No.”

“It’s very possible.”

Rebecca whispered:

“What did you do?”

Amelia looked at her parents.

“What you taught me.”

The investigator stepped closer.

“Explain.”

Amelia turned toward the ballroom.

“For twenty-two years, my parents planned to destroy Ethan and Victoria.”

Daniel snapped:

“Stop talking.”

Amelia ignored him.

“They forged records.”

“Manipulated accounts.”

“Created fake medical reports.”

“Edited photographs.”

“And planted recordings.”

Rebecca looked horrified.

“Amelia.”

Amelia continued.

“But they made one mistake.”

She smiled.

“They stored everything on a server registered in my name.”

Daniel looked at Rebecca.

Rebecca looked stunned.

Amelia pulled out a small drive.

“So I copied it.”

The investigator reached for it.

Daniel suddenly stepped forward.

“Don’t.”

Agents moved immediately.

Amelia handed over the drive.

“Every email.”

“Every payment.”

“Every forged document.”

“Every recording.”

Daniel’s face collapsed.

Rebecca whispered:

“You betrayed us.”

Amelia looked at her mother.

“You raised me to recognize a scam.”

Then she looked at her father.

“And this was the biggest one.”

Ethan asked:

“Why put twelve million into your trust?”

Amelia turned toward him.

“Because I needed them to think their plan worked.”

Victoria frowned.

“What?”

Amelia explained.

She intercepted Daniel’s transfer.

Redirected the money.

Then contacted federal investigators.

She had been cooperating for six weeks.

Rebecca stared.

“You’re an informant?”

Amelia nodded.

Daniel closed his eyes.

The investigator said:

“Ms. Cole gave us enough evidence to open a federal conspiracy case.”

Rebecca looked furious.

Then smiled suddenly.

“Fine.”

Everyone stared at her.

She looked at Ethan.

“But none of you understand the real problem.”

Ethan frowned.

“What problem?”

Rebecca pointed at the partnership document.

“Samuel Shaw wasn’t just my father.”

Ethan stared.

Rebecca continued.

“He was yours too.”

The ballroom went silent.

Daniel slowly turned.

“What?”

Rebecca looked at Ethan.

“Your mother had an affair with Samuel.”

Ethan went pale.

Rebecca continued.

“Your father discovered it.”

“He erased Samuel from the company.”

“Then he erased him from the family.”

Ethan whispered:

“That’s a lie.”

Rebecca reached into her bag.

Another envelope.

Inside—

a thirty-year-old paternity test.

Sophie whispered:

“Oh my God.”

Rebecca handed it to Ethan.

His hands shook.

Samuel Shaw.

99.8% probability.

Ethan stopped breathing.

Daniel stared.

“If Samuel was Ethan’s father…”

Amelia finished:

“…then Rebecca and Ethan are half-siblings.”

Victoria covered her mouth.

Rebecca smiled bitterly.

“Yes.”

Ethan looked at her.

“You knew?”

Rebecca nodded.

“For years.”

Ethan whispered:

“Then why destroy me?”

Rebecca’s expression changed.

“Because you inherited everything our father built.”

“And I inherited nothing.”

Ethan stared.

“But I didn’t know.”

Rebecca shouted:

“You still benefited!”

The investigator stepped closer.

“Rebecca Shaw, put your hands where we can see them.”

Rebecca laughed.

Then looked at Victoria.

“You think this ends with me?”

Victoria froze.

Rebecca turned toward Amelia.

“Show them the final file.”

Amelia’s expression changed.

“What final file?”

Rebecca smiled.

“The one Daniel never showed you.”

Daniel suddenly shouted:

“Rebecca, don’t.”

Now everyone looked at Daniel.

Ethan whispered:

“What is it?”

Rebecca looked directly at Victoria.

Then said:

“The recording from the night Ethan’s father died.”

Ethan froze.

“My father died of a heart attack.”

Rebecca smiled.

“No.”

Daniel closed his eyes.

Rebecca continued:

“He died during an argument.”

Ethan looked at Daniel.

Victoria looked terrified.

Rebecca said:

“And Daniel recorded the whole thing.”

The investigator turned to Daniel.

Daniel stepped backward.

Ethan whispered:

“Who was arguing with him?”

Daniel said nothing.

Rebecca answered.

“Victoria.”

The entire ballroom erupted.

Ethan slowly turned toward his wife.

Victoria looked stunned.

“No.”

Rebecca smiled.

“Oh, yes.”

Then Sophie’s computer suddenly beeped.

She looked at the screen.

Her face drained of color.

“There’s an audio file scheduled to play in ten seconds.”

Victoria whispered:

“Stop it.”

Sophie shook her head.

“I can’t.”

Five seconds.

Four.

Three.

Two.

The ballroom speakers clicked.

An older man’s voice filled the room.

Ethan recognized it instantly.

His father.

“Victoria… Ethan can never know why you came into this family.”

Victoria stopped breathing.

Then her own younger voice answered:

“Then you should’ve told him the truth before I married him.”

Ethan stared at her.

The recording continued.

His father:

“If he learns who your real father is, this family is finished.”

Ethan whispered:

“What does that mean?”

Victoria began crying.

Then the recording delivered the final line:

“Because your father and Ethan’s father were the same man.”

The room went completely silent.

Ethan stared at Victoria in horror.

Victoria looked at him.

Neither could speak.

Rebecca whispered:

“Now you understand why his father wanted the marriage stopped.”
