Victor’s face went white.
The boy stared at him and whispered:
“My mother told me he gave her this letter.”
Clara froze.
“Your mother?”
The boy nodded.
“She said your sister didn’t die in an accident.”
Guests began whispering.
Victor stepped forward.
“Clara, don’t listen to him.”
But the boy suddenly pulled an old photograph from his pocket.
Clara looked at it—and screamed.
It showed Victor standing beside her supposedly dead sister…
Three months AFTER her funeral.
Clara turned toward her husband.
“You lied to me.”
Victor tried to leave, but security blocked the doors.
Then the boy revealed the final secret.
“My mother was your sister’s nurse. She hid the truth because she was afraid of him.”
Clara’s hands began shaking.
“What truth?”
The boy looked at Victor.
Then at Clara.
“Your sister discovered what he was putting in your medicine.”
Clara went completely still.
Four years earlier, she had suddenly lost the use of her legs.
Now everyone in the ballroom understood why Victor looked terrified.
And before the police arrived, Clara asked him one final question:
“Victor… did you put me in that wheelchair?”
