Part 2 : Her heels hit the pavement like gunshots.

She burst out of the café, breath breaking apart in her chest.

“LEO!” she screamed.

The rich boy turned, confused.

“Mommy… I was just helping him.”

But she wasn’t looking at him anymore.

Her eyes were locked on the starving boy.

The boy who was now slowly standing up.

And then she saw it.

A tiny scar near his eyebrow.

A silver chain around his neck.

Her body froze completely.

The world around her blurred.

“That chain…” she whispered. “It was supposed to be lost…”

The starving boy looked at her.

Slowly.

Like recognition was something painful.

His lips trembled.

And then—

In a voice so small it almost broke the air:

“Mom?”

Silence.

Even the wind stopped.

Leo looked between them, confused, stepping back.

“Mom… why are you crying?”

She didn’t answer.

She couldn’t.

Her knees gave out slightly as she reached toward the boy’s face—but stopped, shaking too hard to touch him.

Then—

A black SUV screeched to a stop beside them.

The door flew open.

A man stepped out, breathing heavily, eyes wide with fear.

He saw the boy.

And everything inside him collapsed.

He whispered:

“She found him…”

The starving boy took a step back.

The mother reached forward.

And in that frozen second—

no one knew who was about to lose him again.
