PART 2 — The Elevator Arrives

The ballroom held its breath.

The elevator doors slid open slowly, revealing a woman in a simple delivery uniform, holding a small package tightly against her chest. She looked tired—like someone who had spent years carrying more than just boxes.

Her eyes scanned the room.

And then she saw him.

Harrison Blake.

She froze.

The package slipped slightly in her hands.

“…Harrison?”

The name came out like a memory she had buried too deep to touch.

Owen stepped forward immediately.

“Mom…”

Her eyes snapped to him.

“What are you doing here?” Her voice shook between fear and relief. “I told you to wait downstairs.”

But Owen didn’t move back.

“I found him.”

Silence hit harder than before.

Harrison stepped forward slowly, like each step cost him years of regret.

“I didn’t know,” he said quietly. “I swear to you… I didn’t know you were still here.”

The woman’s eyes hardened.

“You didn’t know a lot of things.”

The CFO whispered to someone behind him:

“Who is she… and why is he reacting like that?”

But no one answered.

Harrison’s voice dropped.

“I’ve been looking for you both… for a long time.”

Owen looked between them.

“You said my dad’s death was an accident,” the boy said suddenly. “But Mom never told me what really happened.”

The room shifted.

Even the chandeliers felt colder.

The woman’s grip tightened on the package.

“That’s because it wasn’t an accident,” she said softly.

Gasps spread through the ballroom.

Harrison closed his eyes.

And when he opened them, they were full of something dangerous—truth, guilt, and something unresolved.

“What did you remember?” he asked.

But before she could answer—

The elevator alarm suddenly rang.

And a new voice came over the building’s intercom:

“Security alert. Level 12 breach detected.”

All eyes turned upward.

Because whatever truth was about to be revealed…

was now impossible to stop.
