Vanessa’s bouquet slipped from her hands and hit the marble floor.
Adrian opened his mouth, but no words came out.
The little girl didn’t cry.
She just stood there, clutching the edge of her coat, staring straight at him as if she had waited her whole life for that moment.
Then a woman appeared at the entrance.
Her dark hair was messy, her face exhausted, but her eyes were locked on Adrian.
The second he saw her, he stepped backward.
“No…” he muttered.
Vanessa turned sharply. “You know her?”
The woman walked into the room, each step heavier than the last.
“Yes,” she said coldly. “He knows me. He promised to marry me too.”
The guests erupted.
Someone dropped a champagne glass.
Vanessa looked like she could barely breathe.
The woman pulled out an old photograph and handed it to her.
In it, Adrian was holding the same little girl as a baby.
On the back, written in his handwriting, were the words:
“To my daughter, I’ll come back for you.”
Vanessa’s face went white.
“You have a daughter?” she whispered.
Adrian finally spoke.
“I can explain—”
But the woman cut him off.
“No. Tell them the real reason you disappeared.”
His jaw tightened.
The little girl looked up at him and asked the one question that destroyed what was left of him:
“If you loved us… why did you start a new life and pretend we were dead?”
Vanessa slowly removed her wedding ring.
Then, in front of hundreds of stunned guests, she placed it in the little girl’s hand.
“You came here for the truth,” she said, her voice breaking. “And you deserved it long before I did.”
Then she turned to Adrian.
“The wedding is over.”
And as security moved toward him, one of the guests shouted:
“Check his other lies too!”
Because at that exact moment, another woman near the back of the ballroom stepped forward holding a little boy by the hand…
And she said, “Actually… my son has his eyes too.”
